Steve's Real Food Lamu is a delicious freeze-dried raw dog food made with lamb and emu meat. Lamb is a novel protein that creates mealtime excitement for picky eaters, and it's easily digestible for pets with sensitive stomachs. Emu is lean, red meat that is also considered a novel protein. The American Heart Association recognizes emu meat as a healthy alternative to beef, with a higher count of iron, protein, and vitamin c; and lower in cholesterol, fat, and calories. Freeze-dried Lamu is complete and balanced for all stages of life, and can be fed to dogs and cats.

Our lamb is sourced from USDA facilities in New Zealand, and the Emu comes from a local farm in North Carolina. The produce is sourced from the Pacific Northwest, and our goat milk comes from a family farm in Gaston, Oregon. Steve's Real Food is committed to working with family farms that share our belief in sustainable farming free from added hormones, antibiotics, and pesticides.

Feeding

Rehydrating freeze-dry food is recommended to help with digestion. We designed our food to be soft and easy to rehydrate. To rehydrate, simply follow steps 1-3:

1. Measure the freeze-dry food and pour it into your pet’s bowl
2. Rehydrate the food by adding water, bone broth, or Goat milk on top of the food. Wait about 10 mins for the liquid to absorb into the food.
3. Serve the food to your pet

Use our feeding calculator as a starting point for your pet. Each four-legged friend will metabolize food differently based on their activity level, breed, age, etc.

Food Storage:

Unopened bags can be kept and fed for 12 months. Opened bags should be used within 30 days and stored in a cool, dark cupboard.

Safe Handling:

Treat raw pet food with the same care as handling raw meat for your consumption. Always wash your hands after handling and everything that comes in contact with the raw pet food.
